Hobbico Ventura - Electric
Aircraft | Repair Tips
Aircraft

It's more challenging to fly than the simulator, but still easier than regular .40 sized gas powered aircraft.  It comes ready-to-fly, it's virtually silent, and requires only a park or field to fly in.

Ventura Electric - New

The fuselage is impact resistant plastic. It's high-density foam wing and tail pieces are also covered in a thin durable plastic sheathing ... it's good for beginners.

Quick Specs:
Wingspan: 39 inches
Motor: Electric - 380 size
(10amp ESC-BEC)
Battery: 7-cell, 8.4v, 900mah
Channels: 3 (micro RX and servos)
Radio: Hobbico Micro 3-CH FM
Weight: 1.5 lb. (flight ready)
Construct: Plastic and foam
Prop: 6 in. Nylon (folding)
Notes: RTF with fast charger

For $17, you can get an extra NiMH plane battery (and rotate them).

You also probably want to pick up (8) NiMH AA batteries and a charger for the transmitter. I've used them for up to 5 flights without a recharge with no problem.

Micro FM receiver, 2 servos, and ESC

I've flown my Ventura over 25 times now (as of 7/2005). It's maneuverable, flies high, and does ok in winds up to 10mph (but with winds that high it does get shoved about a bit at times, so be ready to compensate).

If your radio is still good but you need an affordable way to buy some spare parts all at the same time, they now sell an ARF version (includes everything but radio and servos).
